Unique to Huntsville–Bennett Nurseries

We brought some of these home with us.

Spring is here!

On the last day of spring break, we went to Bennett Nurseries–Voted “Best Nursery in Huntsville” for 5 years in a row.

I consider Bennett’s to be a part of a wonderful learning experience for kids. It is very kid-friendly with it’s outdoor train set and the free sodas that they offer from the old-fashioned drink box.

My teenage niece, Princess Buttercup, and I spent an afternoon wandering the 6-acre nursery, sniffing herbs and selecting annuals. We came home with bunches of fresh lettuce, spinach, basil, parsley, lantana, and other stuff to plant.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures that I took!

Although Bennett’s is a huge nursery, there are plenty of staff on hand to help answer questions.

Oh, and p.s: Be sure to check back on Wednesday. I plan to post on the next place we went, Bennett’s sister store, “Across the Pond.” It is huge, too, and has lots of cool home pond stuff like fish and garden novelties. 🙂

Hi, Dear Readers!

Would write today, but Princess Buttercup and I are on a spring cleaning whirl. We’ve got to do something with this house!

Will try to get back tomorrow. Meanwhile, I added a couple of cool kid crafts on my Pinterest board:

Talk to you soon!

Spring Break Ideas and Linkies!

We’ve made it to Spring Break!

The world is open to sleeping late and endless possibilities for hanging out with Princess Buttercup, her friends, and her friend’s moms.
Here are some ideas for stuff to do during Spring Break:

1. Host a game day party. Get some pals together and pull out “Apples to Apples,” “Clue,” “Jenga,” “Monopoly,” “Twister,” etc.

2. Go on a hike and picnic. We have Monte Sano and Rainbow Mountain nearby. Throw together some pb&j, fruit, or just get some Lunchables if you’re running on spontaneity.

3. Visit your local botanical garden. That would be Huntsville Botanical Garden, if you’re in the Huntsville area. Local museums are always a good option, as well.

4. Get your buddies together and have an outside game day, weather permitting. We may opt for dodge ball and keep-away.

5. Like to go shopping? That’s definitely on our agenda!

6. Crafting, crafting, and more crafting!

7. Spring cleaning…not a lot of fun, but we have got to do some of this if we want to invite friends over.
